Lucy Gascon and Fe Myrna Peña opened Salt & Pepper Restaurant located at 811 Avenue D in the heart of Katy.
Both ladies came from Mexico, where they took cuisine classes in addition to their careers and families. Lucy was a legal assistant, and Fe Myrna was an architect. They met four years ago and soon became best friends. Their common interest in cooking and the shared dream of owning a restaurant led them to join forces to reach that goal. With the full support of their families, they started out as a party catering business before opening the restaurant in Katy in 2009. Now they can serve their signature homemade food on site.
The fresh herbs, so carefully grown, are central to the delicious dishes they lovingly offer their patrons.
They are always open to new ideas and recipes, so when they travel and visit other restaurants, they are looking for recipes to add to their own menu. This accounts for the wide variety of cuisine they offer.
Catering is still an important part of their business, but the addition of a charming place to dine is the final step in achieving their common dream.
